Alex joined the faculty of Foxcroft School in 1998, and has held a variety of positions in teaching and administration. He currently serves as the Director of The Innovation Lab, and teaches in the History and STEM Departments. His courses for 2026-27 include AP Human Geography, AP Environmental Science, and AP Computer Science Principles. Alex holds Foxcroft’s Anna Greenway Griswold Chair for Excellence in Interdisciplinary Education.
Alex serves as a table leader at the Advanced Placement Human Geography exam scoring, and in 2024 was recognized as a Geography Teacher Fellow by the American Geographic Society. Alex’s recent conference presentations include at the East Sea Society Seminar on Sea Naming in Busan, South Korea, and at the National Council on Geographic Education Conference in Omaha, Nebraska. He has participated in academic study tours to Taiwan, Iceland, and South Korea, and in 2025 chaperoned his third trip to the Peruvian Amazon with Foxcroft students.
Alex is a licensed drone pilot, an astronomy enthusiast, a beekeeper, and a Virginia Master Naturalist volunteer. He lives on campus with his partner Linda. Their daughters Harper and Emma are both Foxcroft graduates (’18 and ’21).
